November Monthly Meeting

The monthly Sarasota Woodturners club meeting will be held on November 3rd from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This is an in-person meeting and is on Zoom for people who are not able to attend the meeting in-person.

The meeting starts with club announcements followed by a show and tell. The show and tell is your opportunity to show and talk about your finished and in progress pieces.

Everyone is welcome to come at 6:00 pm to talk about topics of interest, renew acquaintances or make new ones.

Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting to see what our club is all about. Be sure to introduce yourself to any of our club officers and we'll be glad to answer all your questions.

Dan Metzler is an award-winning turner. Dan is a retired architect/homebuilder currently channeling his passion to embellishing wood objects by various means.

Dan began turning in the late 1980s as an escape from his day job. He found turning relaxing and inspirational. Since then, embellishing has been added to his turnings although good form prevails as a starting point. His inspiration comes from anything visually inspiring such as nature, archaeology, jewelry and art, both past and present.

Dan’s demo is entitled “Branding Wood.”
